Wij willen als kankercentrum van VU medisch centrum mensen met kanker langer laten leven en zo veel mogelijk genezen. Daarvoor is grensverleggend onderzoek nodig naar vroegere opsporing van kanker, naar therapie op maat en naar de verbetering van de kwaliteit van leven van mensen met kanker.

Stichting De Ster
Stichting De Ster organiseert unieke vakanties voor kinderen en jongeren die net even een steuntje in de rug kunnen gebruiken op het gebied van zelfvertrouwen. Aan de hand van de SterK-formule waar plezier en vriendschap centraal staan, wordt er op een leuke manier gewerkt aan het zelfvertrouwen van kinderen. In een veilige omgeving leren zij van en met elkaar; ze helpen elkaar en sluiten vriendschappen. Dat deze formule werkt, blijkt uit de enthousiaste verhalen van kinderen en ouders en de positieve effecten op zowel korte als langere termijn (UVA)

The Elephant Corridor
Let's build the largest wildlife park in the world starting with the Elephant Corridor to give room to 100,000 Elephants. So far, the project is crowd-funded by more than 500 supporters, 33 teams and 20 companies from all over the world. This is huge! What makes The Elephant Corridor so special? It is a unique and innovative project that enables the elephants in Botswana to roam freely across the border to Zambia. This project is the first and key step in the realisation of world’s biggest wildlife park covering an area of 300,000 km2.

Produce green energy
Hivos: We don’t normally associate cattle and pigs with clean and hygienic but their manure can be used for clean energy whereby people get a chance on development without climate pollution! In Kenia this project will contribute to the realization of 24 biogas installations. This will part of the larger Africa Biogas Partnership Programme which is realized together with SNV and local organisations.

Chicoco Community Radio
Chicoco Radio is a floating radio station being built by the people of Port Harcourt’s waterfront slums. 480,000 people live in these settlements. The authorities plan to demolish them all. When people protested, they were shot. Tens of thousands have lost their homes. Chicoco Radio will allow them to reach out and speak up. From their floating station, people living in the city's slums will be able to demand their rights, campaign for change and celebrate their culture. Built and designed by local volunteers in collaboration with architects and engineers, the floating radio station will be one of the city’s landmark buildings. Help keep us afloat and get us on air. Protect the World's last Gorillas
The rangers of Virunga National Park need your help in protecting the world's last mountain gorillas. In July 2012 rebel troops seized considerable parts of North-Kivu in Eastern Congo. As a result the ranger's work to protect Africa's oldest and biologically most diverse park has become a very dangerous job. Still, with your help we are able and determined to save this great park.
