In two weeks it's World Water Monitoring Day. On September 18th the Water Environment Federation will create awareness on everyone's consumption of water. Research and practice come together and with this they hope to encourage knowledge, co-operation and (again) awareness. See what you can do at: http://www.worldwatermonitoringday.org/Docs/Dutch_WWMD_Brochure.pdf
Do you consider yourself a sportsman, like a challenge and do you want to contribute to better healtcare in Kenia? The Kenia Classic is your challenge! You can sign up for this spectacular bike ride that takes place in October, find your own fundings and visit several projects initiated by AMREF Flying Doctors (an African health care organization). This way you can see for yourself where your money is going.
This is another BSR initiative! The Sustainable Water Group gives businesses of any kind a chance to work on the quality and sustainable use of water, a more responsible 'supply chain' They provide you with guidelines on how to do to this and through a working group they link you to other businesses/companies that have the same goal. This might not be of direct importance for European companies located in Europe, but
On this website http://www.groeneofferte.nl/ you can find all sorts of projects based on 'green' design. The focus is on design with a social&sustainable function. One example is the green business card made by Studio Mosgroen. The website contemplates every so called 'green design' and explains when a design is or isn't 100% sustainable and why some processes take time to become entirely sustainable
It is known to many of us that a company that cares about the environment is one that is worth investing in.How can these companies advertise and promote themselves in a responsible way?Street art is very popular these days, but graffiti consists of nothing but chemicals.'Green Graffiti' makes the impossible possible! This way of advertisement and marketing only uses water but has the looks of street art.
Believe it or not, but YES, the fashion industry is (and has been for a while now) green as well. Not by using the colour green but even more so by stimulating sustaniable fashion. With this the higlhy appreciated fashion industry creates awareness for and stimulates so called eco fashion. It's not the cheapest clothing but wouldn't it be a great future accomplishment: being fashionabe means being 'green'!
Follow this link and you'll find an interesting initiative of BSR I wrote about before."BSR has identified trends and best practices in women and sustainability through consumer outreach and engagement (..)": http://www.bsr.org/en/our-insights/women-and-sustainability And I added a video called 'the girl effect' which some of you might already know, but it's about investing in 'the female' as well.
Business Social Responsibility is an association that promotes sustainable economy by advising companies what they can change in order to be 'green'.Participation in sustainable projects givess these businesses a reliable identity. They should not only compensate what they waste but also initiate projects and new work methods themselves.BSR does research and consults companies in order to preserve the earth.
