Supporting, connecting and working at different (NGO) projects around the world, really makes me feel the change I want to see in this world. And though the steps might be little, I'm sure we can create an earthquake all together. I think Pifworld is one of the paths we can take, connecting with eachother, making a big chain of people who care and finally make the world shiver. The Vajra Academy in Nepal is one of the projects I sign for. I have worked there for two months in 2008 and realised that this is one of the few projects which really work. Through the Vajra organisation they have developed a great way in cooperating with the Dutch department as well as being an independant Nepali school. Besides, there is a great balance found in keeping the Nepali culture alive as well as developing a better educational system in Nepal. The school is taking care of children from famillies who can not afford good education. Part of them come from far remote areas and live in the hostel of the school, the other part lives nearby and is taken to school by the yellow schoolbus everyday. The school is the first eco-friendly school in Nepal: they cook on solar energy from the "solar-roof" and biogass from the garden. Besides saving energy directly from natural sources, the children learn to care for their environment as a part of their living. The children are extremely hungry for learning and playing, laughing and singing with them inspired me to continue my support for them.
