My daughter Mariette Asagbo-Krouwel left for Ghana in January 2004, with the intention of doing volunteer work in an orphanage in Obuasi. By now, five years have passed and a lot has happened. Mariette has married a Ghanaian pastor Moses Asagbo and together they have two sons, Sam and Noah. However, that is not the only thing that changed, Mariette and Moses have now set up their own Child Care: Hanukkah Children's Home, where at this moment, thirty children have found a new home. Together with my husband, I started the Mariette's Childcare Foundation. The Foundation supports the work of Mariette and Moses in Ghana. The orphanage Hanukkah does not receive any Dutch or Ghanaian government aid, which is why it fully depends on donations. This motivates us to raise as much funds as possible, here in the Netherlands, to offer the kids in Ghana a good life. Doing this work, I have realised that I remain dependant on other people and Pifworld offers a perfect opportunity to contact the whole world! That's why I will Play It Forward!!!
