During my volunteerswork in the houses of Mother Teresa in 2001 in Calcutta ( Kolkata ) I met Dr.Sujit Bramochary who began in 1989 to help the poor mothers and children by giving them free treatment for their health problems.
Since that time his INSTITUTE FOR INDIAN MOTHER AND CHILD has founded 6 health centres, 18 schools and 5 micro-credit banks.
I am inspired by the enthousiasm of him and his workers to do such a good work for the poorist of the poor.
Our Foundation, Indian Mother and Child Netherlands
( www.imcn.nl ) supports the Indian Institute by collecting funds to realize projects, such as schools, health centre and now 25 toilets for poor families in the rural area.

To create awareness of the worldwide challenges we have outside regular office life. About once a month we organize an event of which 50% goes to charity. We have supported several different projects over the years. Here on Pifworld he have raised over 2000 euros for Happy Gunjur and 1000 euro's for Music Mayday.

Although the time that I thought Micheal Jackson was pretty cool is two decades ago, I must admit that he isn't so Bad at all. He didn't frighten me with his Triller album, the real frightning stuff came later on, as we all know. But it is exactly the period between the mentioned albums that he hit the charts with 'Heal the world, '. This was 100% corny stuff, but the message was clear: make it a better place!

"Healthcare is a human right" Need I say more? This slogan appealed to me, because this is the way it should be. We from the Zomercompetitie support the MKI because of all the wonderful things they do in development countries. Information and education on basic healthcare is what they provide and we hope we contribute a little through sports...cleanses body and soul! And don't we want that for everyone?
So step up to the plate and join us in our fight against needless loss of lives!
We are well positioned to provide our two sons with the opportunities and financial means to develop and deploy their talents and skills. The country we live in has the educational infrastructure to fully support this development. By becoming an ambassor, we hope to be able to increase the chances of other children by offering them access to education and improve their possibilities for a better future. My daughter Mariette Asagbo-Krouwel left for Ghana in January 2004, with the intention of doing volunteer work in an orphanage in Obuasi. By now, five years have passed and a lot has happened. Mariette has married a Ghanaian pastor Moses Asagbo and together they have two sons, Sam and Noah. However, that is not the only thing that changed, Mariette and Moses have now set up their own Child Care: Hanukkah Children's Home, where at this moment, thirty children have found a new home.
Together with my husband, I started the Mariette's Childcare Foundation. The Foundation supports the work of Mariette and Moses in Ghana. The orphanage Hanukkah does not receive any Dutch or Ghanaian government aid, which is why it fully depends on donations. This motivates us to raise as much funds as possible, here in the Netherlands, to offer the kids in Ghana a good life.
Doing this work, I have realised that I remain dependant on other people and Pifworld offers a perfect opportunity to contact the whole world! That's why I will Play It Forward!!!
