Update from Sunyani
It has been just a little bit more than a month now that I have been here and that I have witnessed the construction of the medical post. In the beginning of December, the construction workers were still working on the upper part of the walls. One morning when I was not around, they had laid the whole roof. In the last two weeks they have been busy with egalizing the floors and finishing the terrazzo. This is the first of the five buildings of which Hanukkah Children's Home consists that does not have steps but an entrance suitable for wheelchairs instead. In the future, for example one of the children who is paralised from the waist might come to use a chair. He will need to go into the medical post to wash himself in the special hot water bath, to use the computer in the special computer room that is adjacent or find a book in the library that will also be realized in the medical post building.
Just today, the construction workers finished painting the outside in white and green colors, like the rest of the buildings of Hanukkah. We expect that by Friday, the construction will be completed and we can start furnishing. We are looking forward very much to use all those new facilities and we want to thank anyone who has supported it. We will keep you updated!
Thank you,
Dorien Venhoeven

Construction of the medical post
The construction of the medical post has started this week. Off course this is all done on the Ghanaian way. Bags with 100 pounds of cement are carried on the head. Our Dutch volunteers are also helping. To see a new project being realized is something magical. It is very nice to see the collaboration between our Ghanaian employees and the Dutch volunteers.
Thank You! Meda ase! Bedankt!
Dear Players,
You have probably already seen the good news on Pifworld: we reached our budget of Be a Dream! Of course we wanted to give you a very warm, personal thank you for all your efforts here on Pifworld! Thanks to you we can now start building a medical post near Hanukkah Childrens Home: very good news for our kids at the Home and the local community in Sunyani.
It took some time to get it started, but a few weeks in the spotlight, your help and a great charity concert made it happen really fast. Thank you!
Personal thanks to
Dorien and Romy, two Ambassadors who will see the establishment of the medical post with their own eyes. Further kudos to Ilone, Taco (congrats with your graduation!), Marieke, Nina, Joske, Julia, Maaike, Alice, Sander, Xander, Jasper, Esli, Maarten, Stephanie, Joris, Jozee, Antoinette, Liek, Alwin, Tynke, Corine, Margot, Marion, Marja, Louis, Marga, Lotte, Willem, Jan, Kim Ellen, Marije, Rianne, Bas, Adri, Judith and Florine. Many thanks to the Coverband REFLEXX that greatly performed during the night. Thanks to all visitors and volunteers who really made the evening a huge success. Two thumbs up for everyone that enthused their friends and family on Pifworld. Further thanks to all Pifworld employees for their help. Thank you Marieke for donating part of your bookrevenues to Be a Dream, thanks to the grandma and grandpa of a former Hanukkah volunteer spending their anniversary gift on Be a Dream!!! Its amazing.

Jeroen Boekel is running the New York Marathon for us!
Since we currently are the spotlight project on Pifworld, we would like to share the following:
On November the first, our board member Jeroen Boekel is running the marathon of New York for our cause: The Hanukkah Children's Home.
After Jeroen visited Hanukkah's orphanage together with his wife Brigitte last April, he was determined to get into action for the orphans there. That is why he decided to run 42 kilometers and show his support. And what better place than New York city?
We probably don't have to tell you how much we encourage this wonderful gesture. Surely, we will keep you informed on how this adventure continues: Run Jeroen, run!
