Problem statement

Burkina Faso has one of the lowest GDP per capita figures in the world: $1,200. This sparsely populated area in the surroundings of Kaya, needs to be visited in order to develop the small communities in a social and economic way. Several development programmes, like vocational training, health projects, literacy, can be more effective by providing better coordination and supporting them to exchange knowledge.

Goal

Olivier is a local entrepreneur who works for small communities in a deserted area in Burkina Faso. Objective is to provide transport by car and reach 170,000 people to coordinate different projects, regarding water management, eg renovation of 10 water wells and drilling of 2 wells to provide drinking water at a school and medical health center. Hence improving food production and health of the people living there. Last year, this area was in trouble by a dike breakthrough during rainy season, which endangered the harvests. In these emergency situations, leadership and knowledge of water management is very important.

Main activities

Olivier and his colleagues will use the car to drive to difficult to reach areas, and coordinate developing activities, eg water management project, health projects, craft-work, etc
